CLUB FACILITIES
Children and Families The Club has a dedicated children’s room with colour television. There is an extensive walled garden with picnic tables and cushioned/rubberised play area. An independantly operated snack bar is next to the children’s room. General Facilities General facilities include a large air conditioned concert room with a dance floor and stage. Overlooking the gardens at the front of the building is a comfortable lounge area. Both the concert room and the lounge, together with the snooker and games rooms, have recently been refurbished to a very high standard.
Snooker and Games Rooms The snooker room houses two full size snooker tables while the games room caters for the darts and dominoes players. For the less active there is the Sky Sports TV channel. Drinks and Refreshments The drinks available include Stones, John Smiths, Theakstons, Carlsberg and Federation beers. Also available are a selection of lagers, Guinness and soft drinks, all served professionally by Diana and the friendly bar staff. Please see the notices or ask at the bar regarding special offers and promotions. Restrictions Entry is restricted to members and associate members and their guests only. Sorry no visitors allowed. Children are not allowed in the bar areas. Wickersley Social Club is a member of the local pub and club watch scheme Children’s room - all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. No smoking in the children’s room. CLUB ACTIVITIES Quiz Night A very popular general knowledge quiz is held every Monday evening in the lounge. Prizes for the winners.
Dancing Modern and old time dancing, with live music provided by the resident musicians, is every Monday and Friday in the concert room.
Bingo Always a favourite! Bingo nights with cash prizes are held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Drum Draw Perhaps the major attraction is the Drum Draw and Annual Children’s Outing - when over twenty coaches head off to the coast from the Club. Registered children all receive spending money for the day and complementary pop and crisps! - Not a day for the faint hearted..... Live Entertainment Ken Hough works very hard in bringing the best live entertainers to the Club - three nights each week - and no cover charge!!! Other Sections Racing Club - The section for horse racing enthusiasts whose activities include trips to the races - contacts - Ted Marshall or Johnny Kaye Football Club - See Steve Carroll Bowls Section - A very active bowls section represents the club in tournaments. Snooker Section - Mick Clarke is the main person to see about this section and for details of the club team’s matches.
